Construction WSH Convention
The Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Council organised the Construction WSH Convention on 30 November 2011 with support by the Ministry of Manpower, Building and Construction Authority and Specialist Trade Alliance of Singapore. During the Convention, the WSH Council released key findings and recommendations from the Construction WSH Study on small-medium enterprises (SMEs).
Over 700 stakeholders, supervisors and officers from main developers to SMEs attended the inaugural event. They were the first to hear about the new DfS Recognition Scheme to recognise efforts of projects and DfS teams which have shown commitment to eliminate WSH risks at source.

WSH Workshop - Step Change in Construction Safety by Risk-based Design, Holistic Management and Strong Leadership
Construction design and management, with strong leadership, are essential factors to be considered in the elimination or reduction of safety and health risks. Supported by the Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES), IOSH Singapore Branch will be organizing the above workshop which aims to equip participants with skills on construction design and management as well as the practical approach of safety leadership.
The workshop will include lessons learnt and practical exercises making use of real-life cases and scenarios on the impact of construction safety by a risk-based design, holistic management and strong leadership in the area of health and safety.

Tank Container WSH Course (Afternoon Session)
To create safe and healthy workplaces, the Asia Tank Container Association (ATCA) will be organising a Tank Container Workplace Safety & Health course targeted at:
• All personnel engage in the Tank Cleaning & Repair Depot;
• Any personnel who have little or no knowledge in handling tank containers;
• Operational staff from logistics provider & shipping companies handling with ISO-tanks;
• Operational staff handling with ISO-tanks container in the chemical & pharmaceutical plant.
